Sheila Decter grew up in Young Judaea. After 23 years as American Jewish Congress New England Director, she founded and served 17 years as Executive Director of JALSA, the Jewish Alliance for Law and Social Action. She was a member of the Jewish delegation to the UN Forum on Women in Kenya and continues to serve as a board member of a Newton, MA conservative synagogue.
