Rachel Bart grew up in Hashomer Hatzair, Habonim Dror and was active in the Progressive Zionist Caucus.  She lived in Israel for 30 years where she worked as a lawyer and supported the advancement of peace, democracy, equality and religious pluralism.  She is currently a member of Malchut, a progressive, activist Jewish community in Queens.
