Paul Scham is a Professor of Israel Studies at the University of Maryland and Executive Director of its Gildenhorn Institute for Israel Studies. He is also President of  Partners for Progressive Israel and has been active in a number of organiza­tions supporting Israeli-Palestinian peace, both in Israel and the U.S., since 1989, when he set up the original APN lobbying office in Washington, D.C.  He is co-Editor of the Israel Studies Review, an academic journal.
