Arieh Lebowitz, Vice President and a founding member of Partners for Progressive Israel, has been involved in that organization and one of its predecessors, Americans for Progressive Israel, as far back as the late '70s.  Arieh has represented the Hatikvah Slate and similar slates in Jerusalem at all but one World Zionist Congress since 1981; he's been a member of the WZO's Vaad Hapoel, which meets between Congresses, representing the World Union of Meretz, the left faction within the WZO. He a member of the National Board of the American Zionist Movement (formerly the American Zionist Federation) representing PPI.
